Ssshhhhhhh!!! Harry Potter the Musical Rumors
There have been rumors whispered for an age now, of the possibility that our favorite young wizard will take to the live stage. In an attempt to divine exactly what these rumors were all about, we at HarryPotterTickets.net gathered one dark night and assembled a weird contraption, a crucible borne on gnarled iron legs, from which was suspended a bowl cradled in a primeval chain forged at the dawn of Man, and we gazed into its black water, eager to glimpse the uncertain future.
But that didn't work. At all. So we grabbed a British newspaper and had a quick look through it for tidbits of Harry Potter info. According to British tabloid The Sunday Mirror, Harry Potter will soon be the subject of a musical based on the wonder-hit books by Scots authoress JK Rowling.
Casting agents the length and breadth of that moist green isle are said to be scouring the ancient towns and villages in search of a worthy lad to face the wrath of evil Lord Voldemort.
The production is rumored to be an all-singing, all-dancing representation of the enchanted world of Hogwarts, with a plan to bring the creation to life in the West End of London sometime later this year.
According to the Mirror, a theater insider told them, "The musical has the potential to be huge. You are already off to a head start with the most popular book of recent times. Eveyone loves the characters and the mythical world Rowling has invented.
"The difficulty is condensing the seven books into a manageable show. They are exploring various ideas. One possibility is to tell the whole story. Another is to just take a single plot.
"The plan is for spectacular flying scenes, live Quidditch and big showdowns with Voldemort."
The ancient black art is long feared and shunned in Britain, but we owe most modern scientific breakthroughs to those "madmen" of olde, those mysterious voyagers known as alchemists and seers, those who sought the Philosopher's Stone and believed they could turn lead into precious metals.
J.K. Rowling is now wealthier than the Queen of England, and it appears that she has indeed wrought her own form of modern day alchemy, turning her modest lot into acres of pure gold, with each passing book about the boy wizard and his magical mates.
